About Us

Welcome To Ashraya Zilla Vikalangula Samakya.

Ashraya Zilla Vikalangula Samakya (AZVS) is a registered society (Reg. No. 210/2015) committed to the empowerment, inclusion, and rights of Persons with Disabilities (PwDs). Founded in Kakinada and now extending its work across Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu, AZVS has grown into one of the most trusted grassroots disability networks in South India.

From the very beginning, AZVS was built on the belief that community-led action is the strongest pathway to inclusion. Our journey started with small disability groups at the village level, which over time expanded into 15,000+ groups at the village, panchayat, mandal, and district levels. These groups not only provide a support system but also give PwDs a strong collective voice to claim their rights and shape their futures.

AZVSAbout
Over the years, we have initiated a wide range of programs to address the multi-dimensional needs of PwDs:
  • 🎓
    Education & Skill Development

Training in soft skills, computers, spoken English, and life skills.

  • 💼
    Livelihoods & Entrepreneurship

From wage employment and job fairs to self-employment training in soap making, phenyl, handicrafts, and more. Flagship initiatives like Akanksha Kitchen have created inclusive livelihood opportunities run by PwDs and their families.

  • 🤝
    Social Inclusion

Organizing Marriage Melas, cultural activities, and state-level para sports events, enabling PwDs to participate equally in social and community life.

  • ❤️
    Health & Wellbeing

Distribution of aids and appliances (wheelchairs, tricycles, hearing aids), Pinkishe menstrual kits for women with disabilities, and medical camps to improve accessibility and dignity in healthcare.

  • 📢
    Advocacy & Rights

Guiding PwDs to access their government entitlements, welfare schemes, and legal rights, while raising awareness at the community and policy level.

  • 🌿
    Tribal Outreach

At Ashraya Zilla Vikalangula Samakya (AZVS), we believe that every community deserves equal opportunities for growth and dignity. Through our Tribal Outreach Program, we work with tribal families in remote villages, ensuring that Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) and their families are not left behind.
